Pool & Hot Tub Wiring
Spa Subpanels · Bonding · GFCI · Outdoor Disconnects
Water and electricity demand an expert. Almighty Electric LLC installs and repairs pool, spa, and hot tub electrical across Chicago and the North Shore — dedicated circuits, GFCI protection, equipotential bonding, and weatherproof disconnects that meet strict NEC Article 680 safety requirements.

Pool & Spa Electrical We Install
- Dedicated 240V / 50–60A circuits for hot tubs, spas, and pool pumps
- Spa subpanel and disconnect installation within sight of the unit
- Equipotential bonding grids for pools, spas, and surrounding decks
- GFCI-protected pool pump, heater, lighting, and outlet circuits
- Weatherproof NEMA 4 enclosures and outdoor-rated conduit and wiring
- Pool and landscape lighting transformers and low-voltage wiring
Why Proper Pool & Spa Wiring Matters
Prevent Shock & Electrocution
Strict bonding and GFCI protection are the difference between a safe spa and a lethal one. NEC Article 680 leaves no room for shortcuts around water.
Protect Your Equipment
Properly sized dedicated circuits and voltage drop calculations prevent motor damage, heater faults, and premature pump failure from undervoltage.
Pass Inspection & Insurance
Permitted, inspected pool and spa wiring satisfies your municipality and your insurer — essential for liability and resale.
Our Pool & Spa Wiring Process
Load & Site Plan
We size the circuit for your spa or pump, plan the conduit route, and locate the disconnect and bonding grid per code clearances.
Permit & Trench
We pull the permit and coordinate trenching and conduit for the underground run to the equipment pad.
Wire & Bond
We run the dedicated circuit, install the GFCI disconnect, and build the equipotential bonding grid around the pool or spa.
Test & Inspect
We GFCI-test, megger the bonding grid, pass the inspection, and walk you through safe operation and maintenance.
Pool & Hot Tub Wiring Questions
Q.Does my hot tub need a dedicated circuit?
Yes. All spas and hot tubs require a dedicated 240V circuit sized to the manufacturer's spec — typically 50 or 60 amps — with a GFCI disconnect within sight of the tub. Sharing a circuit with other loads is unsafe and not code-compliant.
Q.What is equipotential bonding and is it required?
Bonding connects all metal around a pool or spa — the shell, ladder, pump, and rebar — to a common grid so there's no voltage difference that could shock a swimmer. It's a critical life-safety requirement of NEC Article 680 and is not optional.
Q.Can you wire a pool I already own?
Yes. We install new pool and spa electrical, repair existing faulty wiring, add GFCI protection where it's missing, and bring older installations up to current code.
Q.Do you handle the permit and inspection?
Always. Pool and spa wiring requires a permit and inspection in every North Shore municipality. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and guarantee the work passes — including the bonding grid test.
